What is Cultural Capital?
SASF defines cultural capital as the currency of social mobility - the essential knowledge that pupils need to be an educated citizen.
It is the accumulation of knowledge, behaviours, and skills that a child can draw upon and which demonstrates their cultural awareness, knowledge and competence; it is one of the key ingredients a child will draw upon to be successful in society, their career and the world of work. We want all children to learn about, and names, things that are outside their daily experience.
At SASF, cultural capital is developed across the whole curriculum through personal, social, physical, spiritual, moral and cultural development.
Our aim is for our children to join us on a learning journey, which equips them for their future. We want our children to leave us at Year 6 with a range of skills, deep knowledge that children need to prepare them for their future success.
