School Head Chef - Start ASAP

A rare and fantastic opportunity: St Andrew & St Francis CE Primary School is recruiting!

Head Chef & Food Educator (REQUIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE)

The Post is currently paid on Scale PO1 – Point 29 (range 28-31) Annual Salary FTE is £32,910 plus London weighting of £1978 is £34,888. The pro-rated salary based on 35 hours a week and term time only (39 weeks + holiday weeks) is £29,272 per annum.


This works out to £2,439.36 gross pay per month and approx. £1,815.64 net pay per month (after NI and Pension deductions) The Local Government pension scheme contributions are 6.5% for Employees and the school puts in 35%


The Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Head Chef & Food Educator with a passion for quality produce and nutritional development to run our school kitchen.  You will have the opportunity to transform our school lunch provision to provide fresh, tasty, exciting and nutritious food for our children, staff and the local community. 

You will be responsible for training and upskilling a small team of Kitchen staff and developing a food led curriculum to be delivered to our children.  We understand that good food can have a huge impact on a child’s development, learning and their future health – we need you to educate the children so they learn where their food comes from and how to make healthy choices! 

You will have a unique opportunity to shape and deliver an entirely new vision for school food at SASF.  The right individual will have an exciting opportunity to allow their creativity to transform the meal delivery and food education of the school.
