History and Geography (Opening Worlds)

History

At St Andrews and St Francis C of E Primary School we believe that studying History enables our children to understand how our world today was created by events and people in the past.

As the children journey through each History topic they will develop their awareness of historical events on a time line and engage in historical enquiry by examining sources.

We use Key Stage History and Opening Worlds to plan our lessons at SASF. Each knowledge rich lesson includes historical themes, which are:

Change
Causation
Significance
Similarities and differences
Reliability of sources
Religion
Monarchy
Empire
Power
Daily life
War/invasion

By learning History at SASF, the children will become great young Historians.
