  Who can currently get the COVID-19 vaccine?

  Everyone aged 12 and over can get the Covid-19 vaccine! 

  12-15 year olds can get their second dose if their first was 12 weeks ago. See guidance for 12 to 17 year olds getting vaccinated here. 

  For everyone aged 16 and over, the second dose of the vaccine is available 8 weeks after the first. (See guidance for 16 and 17 year olds getting vaccinated here.)

   

  What about booster jabs? 

  You can get your COVID-19 booster dose if you:

  • Are aged 18 and over (and had your second dose 3 months ago)
  • Are aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts you at high risk from COVID-19

  Most people who are eligible for a COVID-19 booster will be offered Pfizer or Moderna vaccines - this means your booster dose may be different from the vaccines you had for your first and second doses. The Moderna vaccine was approved for use in the UK on 8 January 2021 and is an mRNA vaccine, like Pfizer.
