This page provides information on applying for a nursery class place at St Andrew and St Francis Nursery School.

For nursery-aged (pre-school) children there are various nursery options ranging from childcare to early-years education places in schools.

Nursery options for three to four-year-olds

Children living in Brent are entitled to nursery places, usually part-time, from the term following their third birthday. These places can be taken in a:

  • Nursery class in a primary school or a nursery school

Applying for a school nursery place

Nursery admissions places are controlled directly by the school. If you are applying for a nursery class place, apply to the main school office. You will need to get an application form from the school, which you complete and return to us.

Nursery class places are popular. You should make your application well in advance of the September start-of-year date.

 

Nursery Admissions 2018-19 (To Start Nursery School September 2018)

Children born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 are due to start Nursery class, the first year of Nursery school, in September 2018.

 

Nursery Admissions 2019-20 (To Start School September 2019)

Children born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 are due to start Nursery class, the first year of Nursery school, in September 2019.

 

Nursery fees

State school places are completely free of charge. If you prefer to find your child a place in a day nursery, with a childminder or other non-school setting, you can get help with payments by using the early years' education grant.

Your child is entitled to 15 hours of free education a week, for 38 weeks, from the term following their third birthday. Find out more information about this Nursery Education Grant (NEG).
